第一部分结合自己的研究兴趣向该单位的访学职位表示浓厚的兴趣(如I am writing to inquire about the ability of a visiting scholar position in your laboratory. My specific interest is in your use of XXX that affect XXX.)

第二部分介绍自己的所在单位及、承担职务、研究兴趣和学术背景介绍(如I am currently a XXX in the department XXX at XXX University. My research interest lies on XXX. Current research projects include: XXX)

第三部分介绍预期所达到的结果、访学计划等(如 At this point in time I am seeking to apply my experience and XXX to a new and exciting field. My long-term plan is to develop XXX, such as XXX)

第四部分再次表达自己对这次机会的渴望，和归国后的计划(如Given the opportunity, I am confident that I will be able to contribute successfully to your ongoing projects while at the same time developing the technical skill set and knowledge of XXX that I will need to succeed in my future independent research endeavors.)

最后可附上简历。(如I have enclosed a copy of my curriculum vitae as well a list of references. If you inquire additional information please contact me via email or phone.)
